Gender Benders; The Genre

I've reach such titles like Power, Uwasa no Midori-kun and Pretty Face belonging to this genre and I must say...I really do not get why this is so popular. If we were to look at Power & Uwasa no Midori-kun its pretty much the same story with a different sport. The characters are a little different as well but they follow a similar format if you know what I mean.

Pretty Face is unique in that instead of a girl hiding amongst men you have a former karate champion whose face is reconstructed viz plastic surgery to look like the picture of a girl that was found on his person...not like the plastic surgeon didn't notice the fact he had a penis. Oh nooo he was actually planning on hacking it off to make him a full girl...good lord.

Other series that have caught my interest include;

• 1/2 Prince - It is the year 2100A.D., humans have developed a virtual reality game. Feng lan, due to a bet with her brother, vows to beat the game without using her "female benefits". Due to this, she becomes the first transvestite of "Second Life".
